Riding Lessons with Charlotte
Charlotte teaches English riding with an emphasis on the rider’s relationship to the horse—and to themselves. A lifelong equestrian, she grew up in Vermont Pony Club and trained in eventing, including dressage, cross country, and show jumping. In college, she competed on the Hunter Jumper team at Colorado College. Her teaching is also informed by her experience as a yoga teacher, her master’s degree in depth psychology, and her work with creativity and expressive arts. Students develop strong English riding technique while also cultivating body awareness, breath, and attunement—skills that build confidence and presence both in and out of the saddle. Horses are powerful teachers. As prey animals, they are exquisitely sensitive to their environment, which includes us. Their feedback invites curiosity, compassion, and a return to our full embodied selves. Lessons take place in the ring or on the trail and include grooming, tacking, and groundwork. Charlotte specializes in creating a safe, encouraging environment where both horse and rider feel supported.
